LO4-KTA1+2: Final Photography Before and After along with justification
For a task I was asked to take ten pictures that captured creative and digital sheffield, in total I took around 300 photos in the course of around 5 days. These are the final photos that I have taken.
After this I noticed that there were a few things that needed to be corrected/changed and things that could be improved in photoshop, for instance the lighting in the fourth photo appears a little darker than I would like and can enhance that in photoshop. Also some of the photos are slightly boring due to the fact that they are just common images that appear in many photos when related to Sheffield (The cheese grater).
As you can see here i took one of the graffiti photos and added some key characters from the digital world to it. This creates the feeling of a creative and digital Sheffield also it contains easily recognizable characters that people all over the world will be able to identify such as Mario and Mega Man.
As you can see here I have taken a very easily recognizable building in Sheffield (the Arts Tower) and added something a bit different to it as I felt the original shot was very boring to look at and felt far to corporal for the creative and digital sector of Sheffield. the red text says (these are not the droids you're looking for, hardto read when the image is this small.)
For this photo I noticed that the original was a bit dark and that it needed to have a light adjustment due to the fact that the image seemed slightly dull and uninteresting at the time of day it was taken, very uninviting. I have done this purely to make the ascetics look more appealing
In this photo as you can probably tell I have re-coloured the main image, I have made his shirt blue to represent the sad look in his eye and I have also change the colour of his eye to make his stare look sad and distressed as if he has been through some hard times but keeps persevering.
I took this photo around about 10:30 in the morning using a Cannon D650 and a standard lens from a low angle. I took this shot in relation to the brief because it captures not only the creative side but also the digital side in Sheffield. It captures the creative side due to the unusual way that this building is designed and the fact that it is a car park. This photo also captures the digital side due to the fact that this building will have had to have amazing architects and engineer using software to create a building that looks like this and then put it into practice.
This photo was shot at around 12:40 Am using a wide angle lens from a low angle. This shot captures mainly the creative side of Sheffield due to the fact that it is the arts tower which is used by the university to train students in landscape and architecture which also relates back to the digital side with the software that they use
This shot was taken from a low angle using a standard lens and was taken around 10:00 in the morning. This photo captures the creative side of Sheffield due to the fact that it is where lots of theatrical events are held for the people of Sheffield and remains an important building within Sheffield and the entertainment industry.
This photo was taken around 9:45 and was taken using a wide angle lens and stood underneath a fountain. although this photo dose not directly capture the creative and digital side of Sheffield it dose show what is within Sheffield and how people have designed this city to make it clean and accessible to anyone. This photo also shows the surroundings of Sheffield and some of the office buildings where creative and digital people work.
This photo was taken around 1:30 and was taken using a wide angle lens. Again this photo dose not directly capture or focus on anything specifically creative or digital but more on the entirety of Sheffield and the entirety of the city.
This photo was taken around 12:00 in the morning and was taken using a wide angle lens. This image captures the creativity of the designers within Sheffield and how the challenge modern day conventions for how a building should look. It also shows the digital side of Sheffield due to the fact that it was designed using digital software and involved digital people within the production of this unusual building.
This photo was taken around 1:00 in the afternoon using a wide angle lens side on and at a low angle. This shot captures the creative side of Sheffield in the youth of today and how people chose to express there creativity within this city.
This image was taken at around 1:00 in the afternoon and was taken with a wide angle lens. This photo shows the design work within the city of Sheffield and how people chose to let there creativity be seen even if it is not legal, how they can create a reaction be it good or bad. the purpose of this art is to be seen by the public and let them either appreciate the design style or treat it as vandalism.
This Photo was taken at around 1:00pm and was taken using a standard lens. This photo captures the old and the new in Sheffield which is why i took it. It shows the old with the remainder of the steel girders and how this city used to be the home of the steel industry and it shows the new with the creativity and flare shown with street art and how times have changed in Sheffield from being a very industrious city to now being one of the more creative in the country.
This photo was taken at around 1:00 in the afternoon and was taken using a standard lens side on. This photo captures the pure unrefined creativity within Sheffield and what some people can do wit purely a spray can and there imagination.
Here I have taken the cheese grater photo and changed it into the BORG from Star Trek. The reasoning behind this is not complete insanity it was done because everyone has this shot when told to capture creative and digital Sheffield, its so boring and common and needs to be changed to keep peoples interest, to keep my interest even, it lets people look at this from a different perspective rather than just a "nicely" designed car park.
In this photo as you can probably tell I have re-coloured the main image, I have made his shirt blue to represent the sad look in his eye and I have also change the colour of his eye to make his stare look sad and distressed as if he has been through some hard times but keeps persevering.
In this photo I have only slightly change the colour scheme of the original graffiti and i have done this to make it look more appealing because even though it is a fantastic peice of creative work it seems bland and boring when kept black and white.
How I Edited
LO4: Copyright issues
As some of my photos contain images from Team meat, Capcom, Nintendo, Disney and Star Trek. I would have to get permission to use their images before making it public, however as this is not going public or being put up for sale this is not something that needs to be worried about.

LO3-KTA2: All Images Captured in raw format
As I have taken well over 300 pictures for this unit I will not be showing all of them because for the most part the ones that have not been selected are either out of focus or just don't work however here are some in raw form.
